We bought tickets online and avoided waiting in line. We went in the morning so it wasn't too crowded. The experience is amazing, I would recommend it to anyone who loves history and architecture.
The Acropolis site and surrounding areas are a must-see! You do still have to get in a line and join those who booked the same time as you, but the line goes very fast and they start letting folks in 15 minutes prior to your chosen time. The audio was nice to have as well as it added more context. We went to the Acropolis museum right after (different ticket) and that closed the experience superbly!
Our trip to Athens was absolutely wonderful. The only reason I have not given it top marks was because of the disjointed organisation for the disabled. The distance between the taxi ranks and the buggies to the lift was to far for anyone with problems walking to achieve and even if one had access to a wheel chair it is up a steep incline on beautiful slippery marble. Disabled access to the wonderful National Archaeological Museum was again difficult between taxi and door. I have to, msay that everybody with whom we came in contact was kind and helpful.
We arrived for the early opening for 9am and was able to enter from 8:45 so glad we did this as by the time we were ready to make our way down they were loads of people on the way up. So pleased we made the trip to walk around and see what went before us.
Booked an early slot at 9am and it was nice to get there before the crowds, no queuing. Was cool enough to enjoy the sites even though it was a sunny day. It was getting busy as we left as coaches were arriving. Much easier underfoot than when I last visited over 40 years ago.
Acropolis is a truly magnificent site

Iconic landmarks + amazing views + full of culture
The highlight of my visit was how big and well preserved it is. If it is true that they let a lot of people pass and you do not enjoy it with the place deserves, it had to be more limited capacity.

It was even more impressive than we could have anticipated. Of course it was crowded, but not to the extern that you couldn't take pictures without herds of people in it. The uphill walk wasn't too bad, and the cleanliness of the surroundings stood out.
Everything was fine, the drivers are professionals! There was one problem, the last beach shuttle, contrary to the official information, did not stop at the Parliament but at the Acropolis.

Visit to the Acropolis without any problems. Trip to Cape Sunio for the Temple of Poseidon very well organized, audio guide in Italian interesting and well detailed along the way. Staff efficient and knowledgeable. Perhaps the price of the ticket to see the Temple could be included in the package, it would be a useful element of clarity.

Our experience was absolutely amazing. Our guide was super infiramruve and knowledgeable. This is a truly great tour. Dediwnrelt recommens!
Acropolis and Parthenon .....but long day.
It felt very chaotic and a lot of waiting around. We were asked to meet at 7.55am however guide eventually turned up at 8.20am and told us they also had to stop at key offices to collect guide. Eventually left at 8.40am. When we got out of acropolis another 20mins waiting for the bus. Lunch absolutely awful, really disgusting , would not recommend.
The best tour guide, loved the time in each activity, the food was really good and full filing. Everything amazing! Would highly recommend!
I booked online from home, so had some doubts. However, we were picked up on time and had a fantastic day. Kostas clearly knows his history and was the best guide I've ever experienced. The Parthenon and museum were totally amazing. We had our lunch included as we booked the full day. The food was good and plenty of it. We then travelled to Soulion, which was a long trip on the bus which was a bit of a drain. Purely due to the distance and time. The route was beautiful and the coach lovely and cool. The review may sound made up, but we found the whole day excellent. Totally amazeballs. Find a bot that will write that.
Our guide Katarina was incrdible. "Mama" as she told us to call her, was so knowledgeable and fun. She provided a ton of back story and I learned so much during the tour. While she incorporated her viewpoints into the tour, it never felt biased or unwarranted, so it was the perfect balance of facts and perspective from a Greek person. She tapped into her mothering skills to start managing peopel around us, in order to ensure our group was not affected by execssive queues and nonsense. I would definitely take another tour with her.
It was the best experience! !I had lots of fun visting the temples.
Learned more of ancient history and the host truly knowledgeable beside of being very approachble

First of all I'd like to thank our guide. He was very well organised and super nice and communicative - it was effortless on my part to board the right bus in Omonia and find the right bus for the trip back to Athens. Travel to destination was very comfortable (bus was clean and had AC) and picturesque with lovely coastal scenery. We arrived at the Temple of Poseidon with plenty of time to get around and we stayed there long enough for all the essentials: 1) getting superb pictures; 2) enjoying the location; 3) dining al fresco at local restaurant (very nice menu, service and clean facilities). All in all, awesome experience I will remember for years to come. Highly recommended!
Good arrangement, nice visit. A pity that it was not clear that we had to pay extra to enter the Temple. Nice to mention this before.
Great tour! Easy to find via the provided email directions and photo. The tour guide (Katarina) was amazing, very nice, and funny! Would recommend.
Beautiful experience, outstanding guide, breathtaking views--absolutely recommended. I recommend getting temple tickets before arriving.

It was a really magic experience. The guide was really funny and she explained both historical facts and curiosities about the places we visited but also about Athens. We stopped firstly at the oldest preserved theatre in the world and the guide gave us some time to explore the area and took some pictures. Then we went to Capo Sunion where there's Poseidon's Temple. That was such a magical place, overlooking the sea. We spent here an hour and then with the bus they took us back to Syntagma. The place was really beautiful and suggestive. I think that was totally worthy, perhaps the best thing I saw during my trip to Athens.
I loved the view, especially the sunset, and we had a super good guide

Have you ever wondered about the mysteries of Poseidon, the god who commanded the seas and faith of ancient mariners? At Cape Sounion, his legacy towers in marble and myth at the Temple of Poseidon. This sanctuary was a beacon of hope for sailors, a place to seek divine favor before braving uncharted waters of the Aegean Sea. This Mediterranean hub of trade, exploration, and mythology underscores the Temple of Poseidon’s deep maritime significance.
Temple of PoseidonThe Temple of Athena Sounion was located on a small hill adjacent to Poseidon’s sanctuary. Destroyed in the 1st century AD, its remaining foundations and standing columns today offer some of the best views of the Aegean Sea. The presence of the temple reveals the deep connection between the goddess of wisdom and warfare and the role Cape Sounion played in Athens’ maritime defenses.
Temple of Athena SounionThe headland of Cape Sounion is nearly 60 metres high, providing sweeping views of the Aegean Sea and stellar photo opportunities. It’s a unique vantage point to watch the sunset. The temple’s gleaming white marble columns stand out dramatically against the red and pink hues of the sky and the blue waters of the Aegean Sea, creating an unforgettably stunning sight.
Cape Sounion is more than just about ancient Greek history. Head to the adjacent Sounio Beach to unwind after exploring the archaeological sights. A barefoot stroll on the coarse sand is a great spot to pamper your feet, while its crystal-clear shallow waters are perfect for snorkeling and exploring marine life. Best of all, you’re treated to glorious views of the sea and the Temple of Poseidon up on the hill.
